How to Choose a Reliable 18K Gold Plated Jewelry Supplier

The checks wholesale buyers should run before placing a bulk order: plating thickness, stone grading, compliance, sampling, and factory capability.

Choosing the right supplier is the difference between a repeatable product line and a customer-service problem. For 18K gold plated copper jewelry, the three specifications that matter most are plating thickness, stone quality, and nickel-free compliance.

Ask for the plating thickness in microns, not just the metal name. Industry-standard flash plating is often 0.5-1 micron, while a durable finish should be at least 2-3 microns. Request a plating report and confirm the barrier layer is nickel-free if you sell into the EU.

For cubic zirconia, insist on AAA-grade stones with consistent color and clarity. Request a pre-production sample before the bulk run, and keep that sample as your quality reference for every later shipment.

Finally, verify the factory's export documentation and quality-control process. A reliable partner should be able to provide certifications, a clear production timeline, and a written QC checklist before you pay the deposit.
